SGS News - Palm Sunday
Dear Friend of the Saint Gregory Society,
Holy Week is nearly upon us. As you probably know, Palm Sunday
and Easter have always been observed with special solemnity by
the Saint Gregory Society. Please join us for for these holiest days
of the Church year. There is no better time of year than Holy Week
to experience the Latin Mass in all of its depth and splendor,
whether it be for the first time or just the first time in a long time.
Therefore we would like to encourage you to bring your friends and
families to Sacred Heart Church at some point during this coming
week, and to join us as we “draw water joyfully from the font of
salvation”.
A separate email notice about the Good Friday liturgy will be
forthcoming early next week.
Our schedule for the next two Sundays is as follows:
* Palm Sunday
Sunday, April 5th. High Mass at 2pm, to be celebrated
by Fr. Robert Boyd (St. Mary, Norwalk). The full Schola
Cantorum of the Society will sing Orlando di Lasso’s “Missa

Palestrina (”Nos autem gloriari”), and Lasso (”Tristis est anima
mea’); and all the proper Gregorian chants for the Procession
and Mass of Palm Sunday. The second collection will benefit
Sacred Heart parish (monthly utilities).
* Easter Sunday
Sunday, April 12th. High Mass at 2pm, to be celebrated
by Fr. Robert Boyd (St. Mary, Norwalk). The full Schola
Cantorum of the Society will sing Palestrina’s “Missa
